Kristen Brown Named Big Ten Associate Director of Championships
The Big Ten Conference office announced today that Kristen Brown has been promoted to Associate Director of Championships. Brown has held the role of Assistant Director of Championships since July 1, 2005, after serving as the C.D. Henry Intern in the conference office since December of 2003.

Brent Musburger of ABC and ESPN to Host 37th Annual Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon
The Big Ten Conference announced that ABC and ESPN host and play-by-play commentator Brent Musburger will emcee the 37th Annual Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon. The largest and most exciting preseason celebration of college football in the country will take place Friday, July 25, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

Big Ten Announces Football Television Plans for First Four Weekends of 2008 Home Schedule
The Big Ten Conference office released the game times and television plans for every home non-conference contest during the first four weekends of the 2008 football season. The 2008 pre-conference schedule will feature 30 home matchups televised by ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or the Big Ten Network, beginning with eight contests on Saturday, August 30.

The Big Ten Conference announced today the new officers of the Council of Presidents/Chancellors (COP/C) for the 2008-09 academic year, effective on July 1.

Three Big Ten Basketball Players Selected in 2008 NBA Draft
Indiana's Eric Gordon was selected seventh overall in the 2008 NBA Draft (by the Los Angeles Clippers) on Tuesday night in New York. Gordon joins teammate D.J. White (29th pick to Detroit Pistons) and Ohio State's Kosta Koufas (23rd pick to Utah Jazz) as the three conference players chosen in the first round of the draft.

2008 Big Ten Track and Field Final Release
The Penn State women's squad posted its best-ever NCAA finish and the best of any Big Ten team at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, June 12-14, in Des Moines, Iowa, taking fourth with 39 team points. On the men's side, Wisconsin grabbed the top conference finish, placing tied-for 21st with a 12-point total.
