Here's something Stark County - not to mention just about any other region in Ohio - could use: 900 new jobs.
900 new jobs with an average annual salary of $65,000.
It could happen as a Houston-based Fortune 500 company continues to negotiate with city, county and state officials on a $564 million investment proposal that involves multiple sites in Ohio, including one in Massillon. The Massillon operation would be a $40 million investment, according to the Repository.
Baker-Hughes is not a drilling company, as explained in the article, but the proposed jobs would involve the controversial procedure known as fracking.
Governor Kasish is hoping to make a formal announcement as early as Monday.
