Rhode Wins Fifth Consecutive Olympic Medal Lars Baron/Getty Images(LONDON) -- Kimberly Rhode captured the gold medal in women’s skeet shooting Sunday. She becomes the first American to win an individual medal in five consecutive Olympics.

The 33-year-old Rhode scored 99 points, setting an Olympic record and tying the world record. Wei Ning of China took the silver with 91 points while Danka Bartekova of Slovakia won bronze with 90 points.

Rhode’s first medal came back in 1996 at the games in Atlanta, when she won the gold at the age of 17.
