Clive Brunskill/Getty Images(BRISBANE, Australia) -- 13-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams sprained her left ankle during her second round match at the Brisbane International.  Williams was able to finish the match, beating Bojana Jovanovski of Serbia in straight sets, but withdrew from the tournament afterwards.

Williams is in Australia preparing for the Australian Open, which begins on January 16.
