Hoban-SVSM Move Football Rivalry 4/23/2009 8:22:48 AM | Joe Jastrzemski Two traditional rivals will play the first High School football game at Infocision Stadium on the University of Akron campus on Friday Night September 18th. advertisement The three schools have reached an agreement to hold the game on September 18th with kickoff slated to take place at 7 o'clock. The High School game will be played six days after the University of Akron opens the facility on September 12th against Morgan State University. Since the rivalry resumed between Hoban and St. Vincent-St.Mary in 1998, the games have been played at the Rubber Bowl. Neither Hoban's Field, Dowed Stadium or St. Vincent-St. Mary's Stadium on Green Street have been large enough to handle the over 10,000 fans that usually attend the game. The Plain Dealer reports that since the rivalry resumed in '98 Hoban leads the series 9-wins to 2. But, the Fighting Irish have won the game the last two years in a row, including last year's 20-12 victory. Overall, Hoban leads the series 17-wins to 15. On The Web: www.cleveland.com
