Indians Recall Kluber

The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has recalled RHP COREY KLUBER from the AAA Columbus Clippers.

Kluber, 25, has spent most of the season at AAA Columbus where he went 7-11 with a 5.56 ERA (150.2IP, 153H, 101R/93ER, 70BB, 143K, .263 avg) in 27 regular season starts. He finished the regular season tied for 3rd in the International League in strikeouts with 143. On the year he went at least 5.0IP in 22 of 27 AAA starts. This will mark Kluber’s 2nd stint with the Indians as he was recalled on September 1 and made his Major League debut that day against the Oakland Athletics in Progressive Field tossing 1.1 scoreless innings (2H, BB, 2K) in his only appearance with the Indians this year before being optioned back to AAA Columbus on September 3. He was acquired from San Diego last July 31 in a three-team trade that sent RHP Jake Westbrook to the St. Louis Cardinals. He wears #34.

The Indians Major League roster now consists of 35 players with 3 players on the Disabled List.
