A Massillon man was shot in his side during a chase before 3 a.m. Monday morning.

Canton Police tell the Repository that it happened in the 2300 block of Eight Street NW. The victim was taken to Aultman Hospital.

Police say the bullet may have traveled to his spine.

His condition is not known at this time.

Canton Police are searching the suspect who shot at and injured two people inside a moving car.

Officers say three people were inside the vehicle at the time, when a suspect shot through the passenger-side window.

The Canton Repository reports it happened in the 400 block of Hazelett Ave. NW Monday afternoon.

Four to five rounds were fired. One bullet struck the driver in the face. He was treated and released from Aultman Hospital. A victim sitting in the front passenger seat was injured by shatter glass and possibly one of the bullets.

Police detectives say the suspect may have been on foot and they're still looking for leads in the case.
