TALLMADGE, Ohio – The Tallmadge Blue Devils tested their resiliency in their first tournament game of the 2012 season, then they tested it again for good measure. In the end, senior first baseman Karly Salter kept host Tallmadge alive in postseason play with a two-out, two-run double to centerfield in the bottom of the ninth inning for a 5-4 walk-off victory over Crestwood. Salter’s frozen rope scored third baseman Kirsten Lightel to tie the game and senior pitcher Paige Schertzinger to win the game. Both Lightel and Schertzinger both hit singles back up the middle of the diamond earlier in the inning. Copyright 2012 SportsInk. All rights reserved.
