Medina Police Chief Suspended

Medina Police Chief Patrick Beraducci will serve a four week suspension for making a sexual gesture at a staff meeting in January.

In an interview with the Medina County Gazette, Beraducci apologized and said he "didn't intend for the gesture to be offensive."

The Ohio Patrolmen's Benevolent Association filed a complaint in February regarding the incident. According to the complaint, the gesture was made during a staff meeting where scheduling changes were discussed.

Beraducci is not permitted to return to work until April 9.

Akron Superintendent’s Son Suspended For Fight

The son of Akron Public Schools Superintendent David James is suspended from school after a fight last week.

School Board President Curtis T. Walker Sr. was informed about the incident by James. He says the fight started the first day of school.

"A fight did occur. His child was suspended and he just wanted to let me as a superintendent and a father that it occurred ," says Walker.

Walker says that he currently is unable to comment on the details of the fight.

"It's just an unfortunate situation for everybody as to that happening," says Walker.

Both teens were suspended for 10 days.
