Akron Police Detectives are following up on a report of shots fired on Nome Avenue on the city's west side Tuesday.
Akron Police Lieutenant Rick Edwards tells AkronNewsNow.com a female resident told police a shot struck her front door, went through her microwave, and lodged into a south side inside wall.
An 18-year-old man also told police he was standing outside of the home on Nome Avenue where the shots were fired and said a silver vehicle drove by and fired shots at him as well. He was not injured.
Lieutenant Edwards says a vehicle possibly connected with the shooting was found. on Fleming Drive in Akron.
Police say the suspect is a black man between 30-40 years old standing between 5 feet 7 inches tall and 6 feet tall, weighing between 250 and 300 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt and long black shorts during the time of the incident.
Police are continuing to investigate.
Akron Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a barbershop Tuesday morning.
The owner of the All City Barbershop on Pioneer Street reported that after he opened the shop, a man walked in and started a conversation. The man allegedly then pulled out a handgun and demanded the owner's money and cell phone.
The owner handed the man $300 in cash and his cell phone. The suspect then took off on foot.
Akron Police describe the suspect as a black male standing between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet tall. He had a small goatee and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark pants during the time of the incident.

Two people were hospitalized after an SUV rolled over on the ramp to I-76 from General Street in Akron.
Akron Police tell NewsChannel 5 the accident occurred just after midnight Wednesday when they say the driver took the curve too fast before clipping a curb causing the rollover.
The vehicle was laying on its roof in the middle of the ramp just after the crash.
The TV station reports both people in the SUV were speaking with Akron emergency personnel before being taken to the hospital.
The ramp was reopened just shortly after 1:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Akron Police and the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on the city's west side late Thursday night. The shots were fired during a party on Wildwood Avenue around 11:30 Thursday night.
Lieutenant Rick Edwards says a 23-year old man was shot during the incident. He was taken to Akron General Medical Center where he died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 12:12 a.m. Friday morning.
The shooting victim has not been identified yet pending positive identification and his relatives have been notified.
The suspect, Kyle James Spy, 23, of Brandon Avenue, was arrested without incident around 9:00am this morning on Cromwell Drive. Kyle Spy was charged with murder and booked into the Summit County Jail. Spy also had multiple traffic warrants also on file in the Akron Municipal Court.

Akron Police are looking for a man in connection with setting an apartment on fire by placing a pillow on top of a stove.
Warrants have been issued for 25-year old Dominique Thomas, who is wanted on multiple charges including arson and aggravated menacing.
Akron Police say the incident at Tallmadge Avenue Tuesday morning stemmed from a domestic dispute between a 25-year old couple. Police say during the argument, Thomas allegedly took a knife and chased the woman out of the unit and down the street.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. Firefghters quickly put out the fire that started when Thomas allegedly placed a pillow on a lighted stove, according to police..
Upon arrival the officers smelled smoke coming out of the apartment. Police say there was minimal damage caused by the fire and no one was not hurt.

Akron Police are looking for an individual in connection with breaking into a church and stealing several choir robes.
Police reports indicate the thefts occurred at the University Presbyterian Church on Spicer St just before services began last Sunday morning. The Beacon Journal is saying Rev. In-Kyu Park called police to report the break in.
According to the report, the suspected thief took a wooden covering off of the front basement window to gain entry into the church. Police tell the newspaper the burglar damaged an inside door, used the restroom inside the church, then took off with the choir robes.

A gunman held up a check-cashing business Monday afternoon.
Police Lieutenant Rick Edwards says it happened at the First America Cash Advance on South Arlington around 3:30PM.
The gunman went up to the teller, held up a handgun, and asked for the money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect was wearing a woman's black wig, and was carrying a white bag, along with other dark clothing.

Akron Police need the public's help in identifying a man in connection with a bank robbery on the city's west side.
Police say the man entered the PNC Bank in Akron's Highland Square neighborhood Thursday morning just before 11 a.m..
The man allegedly handed the teller a note demanding money. It's unclear if any weapon was shown during the incident.
The man then took off in a blue 4-door sedan westbound on W. Market St.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late 30's to early 40's, thin, and standing 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Akron Police are seeking the public's help in locating a man accused of forcing his way into a West Akron apartment and assaulting his former girlfriend for several hours.
36-year old Jerome Allen Johnson is wanted for the alleged attack, which occurred early Sunday morning.
Police say he entered the home around 4:30am in the morning, holding the woman against her will for about five hours.
During that time, Johnson allegedly slapped, and choked her. She was eventually able to break free and pulled the fire alarm to alert neighbors according to police.
Johnson took off from the apartment. He is described as a black male, standing 5’10” and weighing 220 lbs.

Akron Police detectives are investigating a home invasion robbery that took place Saturday morning on the city's west side.
Police say two masked men armed with handguns stormed inside a house through an unlocked door around 1 a.m. on Valdes Avenue and demanded property.
The pair took over $500 in cash and a 2005 silver, Buick Lacrosse belonging to one of the victims Police say the car has not been recovered.
The five people who were inside of the house during that time were unharmed and the alleged intruders were not immediately identified.
