Gretchen J. Pinder

Gretchen J. PinderGretchen Guy Pinder, wife and best friend of Donovan F. Pinder, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009 of a sudden stroke at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, she is the cherished daughter of John and Donamari Guy. Gretchen attended Firestone High School and Walsh University. She married Donovan, her high school sweetheart on February 14, 2000. They lived in Plain Township. Gretchen was employed at the law offices of Guy and Lammert. Gretchen was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Martha Pinder; grandmother, Alberta Dunkel Pontius; uncle, Chris Dunkel. She is also survived by her awesome brothers, Greg Guy and his wife Heather of Ellicott City, Maryland and Chris Guy of Akron; nephews, Bradley and Daniel Guy; father-in-law, John (Mevren) Pinder; brother-in-law, David Pinder. Gretchen was an extraordinary person that we were blessed to have in our lives. She remains in the hearts of all who knew her. Gretchen gave life even in death by donating her organs to Life Banc. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Fairlawn West United Church of Christ, 2095 W. Market St., Akron 44313, with Rev. David Loar officiating. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 29119, Phoenix, Arizona 85038-9119. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
