Dorothy A. Young, 104, passed away peacefully October 26, 2009.
Born in Meadville, Pa., she lived in Akron all of her life. She worked in the business office at Ohio Bell for 43 years retiring in 1966. Dorothy was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was active in many organizations including AARP, Eastern Star, Telephone Pioneers and St. Edward's Service League.
Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ada Wright; husband, Herman Young, whom she married July 11, 1929; brothers, George and Harold Wright; survived by nieces and nephews, Patricia Ley, Joann (Dale) Zimmerman, Debra (Dan) Weinstein, Sue (Randy) Bartlett and Pam (Robert) Nickerson.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 380 Mineola Ave, Akron 44320.
