AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- An appeals court has overturned the decision to ban a Florida man from Ohio for life after he pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of a woman.

The 9th Ohio District Court of Appeals in Akron overturned the ban against George Mose on Monday, saying it had no basis in law.

Mose accepted the ban as part of a plea agreement. He pleaded guilty to attempted murder and attempted aggravated burglary.

The court says Mose attempted suicide twice over a breakup with his girlfriend and drove from Bradenton, Fla., to Brunswick, Ohio, in 2009 after telling roommates he was going to kill her. Police were tipped, and Mose was involuntarily committed for mental health treatment.

There was no immediate comment from the Medina (meh-DY'-nuh) County prosecutor about the court's decision.
