TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Crashes on interstate highways east and north of Columbus are causing big delays.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says several accidents shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 71 about 40 miles north of Columbus near Mount Gilead around 4 p.m. Saturday.

WBNS-TV in Columbus reports drivers were saying icy conditions were causing the trouble there.

Accidents also closed several lanes on Interstate 70 east of Columbus in Licking County near Buckeye Lake.

The State Highway Patrol tells The Columbus Dispatch that no serious injuries have been reported in the crashes.

Earlier in day, multiple accidents on U.S. 23 in southern Michigan forced the route's northbound lanes to be shut down at the state line just outside Toledo.
