COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A state senator says he's preparing to revisit renewable energy requirements Ohio imposes on power companies to determine if changes are needed to state law.

Senate Public Utilities Chairman William Seitz (syts) outlined plans in a memo Friday for a "meaningful review" of renewable targets and energy efficiency standards for power plants.

The Cincinnati Republican invited interested parties to provide feedback on issues including whether annual energy efficiency targets should be frozen and how renewables contracts would be treated if thresholds for use of wind, solar and other renewables "are significantly altered or abolished."

Seitz is active in the American Legislative Exchange Council, a policy group that's drafted model legislation to repeal the state energy mandates.
