CINCINNATI (AP) -- The top U.S. law enforcement official will give details of a grant of more than $6 million over three years to support community policing in Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports ( http://bit.ly/oXtSa8 ) Attorney General Eric Holder will be joined Wednesday by Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory and Police Chief James Craig. The funds from a Department of Justice program will help keep 50 police officers.
The city has been seeking money to help retain police officers and avoid layoffs.
The newspaper reports that Holder might also announce funds for other Ohio cities.
