Power failure on runway delays Columbus flights

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A spokeswoman says flights were diverted from the Columbus airport after the lights went out on one of its runways for a short time.

The Port Columbus International Airport spokeswoman said flights scheduled to land between midnight and 12:30 a.m. Wednesday were diverted to Indianapolis or Louisville. As many as 18 flights were affected. None of the flights leaving the airport were affected.

The Columbus Dispatch ( http://bit.ly/PkTq3A ) reports that crews were able to get the lights restored just before midnight.
