COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Anheuser-Busch brew-masters in Columbus and 11 other cities have worked to come up with their best small-batch beers to compete for inclusion in a limited-edition Budweiser sampler pack to be sold to the public this fall.

The brew-masters from the 12 Budweiser breweries were asked to submit a beer idea and the 12 ideas were narrowed down to six, which include Columbus' brew. The brew-masters then worked to perfect those six for consumer-sampling at events in all 12 cities to determine the final three for the sampler pack.

The St. Louis-based maker of Budweiser beers says the beers were made with yeast descended from the yeast culture used by Adolphus Busch in 1876 in tribute to the brand's taste. They were named for the ZIP code where they were brewed.
