COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Dozens of bicycles will end up under the holiday trees of needy central Ohio children this year thanks to forgetful bus riders who left them behind.
The Central Ohio Transit Authority said Tuesday that 49 unclaimed bikes left on buses more than 60 days ago months were donated last week to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
The bikes all receive a makeover from local firefighters through Firefighters 4 Kids, which also is priming 450 other bikes for holiday donating.
The Foodbank redistributes the bikes to various groups to pass on to new owners.
