COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Sentencing was set Friday for a Los Angeles resident who pleaded guilty for his role in a $3 million scheme to ship marijuana to Ohio in suitcases.
Henry Hernandez could be sentenced to dozens of years in prison but is likely to face a far lighter term under federal sentencing rules.
Hernandez pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute more than 200 pounds of marijuana.
Hernandez' attorney says his client had one of the smallest roles in the conspiracy and asked for home detention and supervised release.
The 25-year-old Hernandez is the last of seven defendants to be sentenced in the case that involved shipping marijuana to Ohio aboard private chartered jets.
