Jupiterimages/Thinkstock(GREENVILLE, N.C.) -- Reports of a man carrying a gun forced East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., into lockdown Wednesday morning, as campus police worked to substantiate the sighting.
A spokesman for the university said a man with an assault rifle, backpack and a cowboy hat was spotted on a security camera.
No shootings have been reported, according to the school’s spokesperson.
