The luck of the Irish is in full effect this St. Patrick's Day, and many people will be out and about today taking in all the fun

T.J. Masterson of Annabells in Highland Square says they'll be open bright and early.

"We wll open at 7 a.m., we'll have a bagpiper, free corned beef, and a number of bands," he says.

Masterson there will be plenty of green beer to go around, along with Irish-themed music patrons can enjoy.

With St Patrick's day falling on a weekend, he expects the whole neighborhood to be buzzing thoughout the day.

"The whole Highland Square area's going to be bustling from sunup to the wee hours," he said.

Lauren Brannon of Brubakers Pub in the Merriman Valley says her bar has been stocking up early in the week to accomodate all the revelers.

"We got eight kegs of just green beer alone," she said. "We will be opening at 5:30 a.m. for kegs and eggs, so it's going to be insane."

The weather is expected to be good, so customers can go enjoy the patio and take in the sunshine while celebrating.

The day is to honor St. Patrick, Ireland's patron saint, who helped to spread Christianity throughout the country.
