After their first weekend protest in downtown Akron , Occupy Akron, part of the nationwide Occupy Wall Street movement will continue to plan activities and daily demonstrations at Cascade Plaza to raise awareness of the impact of corporate and financial greed on the nation's economy.
One of the Occupy Akron organizers , University of Akron student Jennifer Calhoun tells AkronNewsNow the group is planning future activities as the group continues to spread its message. " We are the 99%, and even though not all the 99% agrees with us, we're going to still be here, fighting on behalf of that 99%, so that we can adjust to this inequality that's running rampant in our society."
Calhoun says besides daily demonstrations, Occupy Akron is planning a silent dance and other activities.
She says the group now has a new web site OccupyAkron.org, which features a forum for anyone who wants to support the cause.
