A North Ridgeville dance teacher will be spending time behind bars after being sentenced Tuesday for having sex with one of her students.
34-year old Kimberly Sauto was sentenced by Judge Judy Hunter to 1 year in prison after being convicted of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Minor. She will have to register as a Tier 2 Sex Offender.
The sentence stems from an August, 2011 encounter Sauto had with a 15 year old male tap dance student in Sagamore Hills.
She was found guilty of the offense by a jury January 27th.
Authorities learned of the relationship through Sauto's husband, who called police after he found condoms in his wife's dance bag, and then discovered text messages between her and the boy on her phone.
A Lorain County woman was found guilty Friday by a Summit County Common Pleas Court jury of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
34-year old Kimberly Sauto of North Ridgeville, a married tap dancing instructor had a sexual relationship with one of her 15-year old male students in Sagamore Hills.
Sauto’s husband reported the relationship to the Sagamore Hills Police Department after finding condoms in his wife’s dance bag and text messages between her and the victim on her phone. While the case was pending, prosecutors discovered a series of love letters Sauto wrote to the victim, corroborating his allegations. Sauto then admitted on the witness stand that she loved the victim.
Judge Judith Hunter will sentence Sauto March 6th . Sauto faces up to five years in prison.
