Several KFC restaurants will close in Akron after a financial dispute between the company and a franchise owner.
The Beacon Journal reports several Akron-area locations will close by the end of May including restaurants in Stow and Wadsworth.
KFC sued a Columbus-based Rao's Hospitality for alleged copyright infringement and failure to pay about $175,000 in royalties and fees.
The franchisee filed for bankruptcy and filed a motion for a settlement in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
Rao's Hospitality was ordered to close the restaurants by May 31.
The KFC on State Road in Cuyahoga Falls has already closed its doors. Restaurants on South Arlington and West Market will also close.
