Accused Serial Robber Arrested

A Stow man is accused of a series of robberies this week at businesses in Stow, Cuyahoga Falls and Akron.

Joe Schratz, 40, of Norman Drive in Stow was charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping in connection with crimes at Speedway, Taco Bell, Sheetz and Steak n' Shake.

Police say Schratz was arrested Tuesday morning after driving through the Steak n' Shake restaurant in the 1600 block of Home Avenue.

He told the clerk he had a gun and demanded money. The clerk closed the drive-thru window and then called police.
