An Akron woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with stealing drugs from developmentally disabled residents of group homes.
32 year old Jennifer Evans is accused of stealing prescription painkillers from residents of group homes in Cuyahoga Falls and Copley and replacing them with over-the-counter drugs.
The Summit County Sheriff's Offices says she'll face felony counts of tampering with drugs and theft of drugs.
In July of 2013, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Summit Developmental Disabilities Board in regards to a potential theft of drugs. An investigation was initiated by the Sheriff’s Office Detective assigned to the Developmental Disabilities Board.
The investigation revealed that a former employee of the group home had been stealing prescription pain medications from group home residents and replacing them with over-thecounter drugs. The victims were developmentally disabled residents of group homes located in Cuyahoga Falls and Copley.
On July 30th Jennifer Evans, age 32 of Akron was arrested for Tampering with Drugs (F3) and Theft of Drugs (F4). She was transported to the Summit County Jail. FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO INSPECTOR WILLIAM
