It's been more than two weeks since the devastating floods that hit the Akron area. But a handful of Akron seniors still aren't able to return home.
NewsChannel 5 reports their Villa at Marian Park apartment complex in South Akron flooded and will need as much as $300,000 in repairs.
The ordeal hasn't been easy on 78-year-old Margaret Hoff.
"We don't like it," she said. "We're too old to be out here."
Hoff has a rare lung condition that makes the damp conditions at her apartment building even worse.
Building Manager Anna Eby says they put the seniors in a motel, but they can't do that any more.
"Through an emergency fund we had, we have currently run out of money at this point," she said.
When the money ran out, they placed Hoff in another apartment building until hers is fixed. That could take another three to five weeks. Eby says her staff is doing what they can.
"They've lost their homes," she said. "We're doing everything in our power to get them back into their home."
