An Akron man will spend the next 18 years in prison for shooting at a car and robbing a pizza delivery man of cash at gunpoint.
21-year-old Martice Bishop of Talbot Avenue was sentenced Thursday by Judge Amy Corrigal Jones.
On January 21, Bishop and a woman stole a man’s phone and said they would return it after the man paid them $50. After they returned the phone, Bishop fired two shots at the man's vehicle.
According to prosecutors, Bishop convinced the same woman to order a pizza to rob the delivery man. After the pizza was delivered, Bishop robbed him at gunpoint as he was trying to get into his car. The man handed Bishop the $20 he was just paid for the pizza, where he shot him twice.
Bishop pleaded guilty to felonious assault charges on June 26.
