The search for a missing teenager is over, and there'll be a happy ending.
The Jackson Township Police Department says 14 year-old Emma Elizabeth Newland was located in Medina County on Friday afternoon, and is being reunited with her family.
Jackson Township police conducted an extensive search for the teen, with help from departments in Wayne County, the Barberton police and the FBI.
She'd last been spotted in Dalton.
(Jackson Township Police Department - news release) Jackson Township Police Department is announcing that the missing juvenile Emma Elizabeth Newland has been located and is in the process of being reunited with her family. Emma was located sometime around 2:25 pm today’s date 7/19/2013 in Medina County.
No further information will be released on the process of Emma being located at this time.
The Jackson Police along with the assistance from the Canton FBI office and Canton FBI task force members extend its gratitude to the citizens of Wayne County and the assistance of the law enforcement agencies in Wayne County (Dalton Police Department, Orrville Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Wooster Police Department). Their efforts of actively patrolling their counties and utilizing their social media outlets played a great role in alerting the public. Barberton police also assisted when asked to check locations in their city.
The Jackson Police Detective bureau along with the FBI checked and acted upon hundreds of tips and leads.
