University of Akron basketball player Alex Abreu spent time in the Summit County Jail this week for a probation violation.
Abreu's attorney Robert Meeker tells AkronNewsNow Abreu failed to perform a test required under the terms of his probation. He was booked Tuesday and released from jail Thursday morning.
Abreu pleaded guilty last month to marijuana trafficking and was given a two-year suspended prison sentence and 18 months probation. He remains suspended indefinitely from the Zips basketball team.
