Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was found inside a flipped vehicle in Nimishillen Creek early Friday morning.
Canton police tell the Canton Repository that they believe the man was driving "at an excessive speed" when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Ira Turpin Way NE. Officials say two boys riding their bicycles found the flipped vehicle in the creek.
Rescue crews were called out to the scene around 12:30 a.m.
The Stark County Coroner's office is investigating the cause of the man's death. Authorities do not know if the man, who is believed to be in his 40's, died from drowning or from the crash.
