A local couple took a look at the calendar and decided today ... 11-11-11 ... would be the perfect day to tie the knot.
"It's a fun and unique date," said Anthony Anderson of Akron.
His fiancee, Ayten Yazici of Canton, says they were planning to get married anyway, but decided on Monday to move the date and take advantage of the once-in-a-lifetime calendar position.
Other than saying he'll never forget his anniversary, Anderson says he doesn't think the date itself will bring good luck to his marriage with Ayten.
"Despite all the other superstitions about it, we have our own meaning for it," said Anderson. "It's going to be our own lucky day."
In case you're wondering, Anderson and Yazici won't be getting married during the 11:00 hour -- the nuptials take place this evening in a private ceremony at home.
