The man accused of assaulting his girlfriend and killing a kitten before throwing it at her has turned himself in.
WKYC-TV Channel 3 News reports 28-year-old Patrick Palmer of Akron surrendered to police late Monday night.
Palmer is currently housed in the Summit County Jail.
He was wanted on animal cruelty and domestic violence charges in connection with a July 4th incident at his home on Rexford Street.
Around 1 p.m. that day Palmer got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend before he allegedly kicked, choked, and shoved her into an SUV parked in the driveway according to police.
Police say Palmer then grabbed a kitten in the front yard, broke the kitten's neck and then threw it at his girlfriend.
Authorities tell the TV station Palmer's arraignment is scheduled for July 10 at 9am in Akron Municipal Court.
