A 19-year old Medina man was arrested today (Tuesday) and charged with aggravated arson for allegedly setting an early morning fire at the Medina High School Performing Arts Center.
Davon Phillips of West Friendship Street just graduated from Medina High School this month, and was employed as a custodian at the school. He's now in the Medina County jail pending a bond hearing in Medina Municipal Court.
Assistant Medina fire chief Mark Crumley tells AkronNewsNow when they arrived on the scene shortly before 7:30am they found fire in the stage scene shop area. He says rthe fire was contained by the automatic sprinkler system, and there was no strctural damage. Only wood props were damaged by the blaze.
No one was injured.
