If you're looking for something exciting to do with Dad and you're fresh out of ideas, Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is the place to be on Father's Day.
Stan Hywet Marketing Director Eric Wheeler says the 56th annual Father's Day Classic, Antique, and Collector Car Show will feature a wide variety of vehicles and activities.
"This year, we're expecting probably around 400 cars in various categories and classes, so we're excited about it," Wheeler said.
The event runs from 9 a.m- 4:30 p.m Sunday.
Wheeler says the car show has something both you and Dad can enjoy.
"There's a lot of activities to keep you occupied, from the cars, to the grounds, there's plenty of space to walk around and spend some quality time with your family."
Some of the more popular aspects of the car show include the "Future Classics " section of high-end cars presented by Dave Walter BMW in Akron. Debuting this year is the "Fast Lane" aftermarket auto vendor area which gives people an opportunity to buy things for their cars.
Harry Wolk from the Ohio Region Classic Car Club of America says the classic cars seen on the Stan Hywet grounds always get people talking.
"There's a lot of history on the grounds, so we encourage people to find the car owners and ask questions."
The Ohio Region Classic Car Club of America is one of the co-sponsors of the event.
Judges will be awarding prizes for the vintage cars on display this coming Father's Day.
Admission to the car show is $12 for adults, $9 for Stan Hywet members. Children ages 6 through 17 are $5, $4 for Stan Hywet members. Children 5 & under accompanied by an adult are free.
