A civil lawsuit has been dropped against a local priest accused of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports the case against Rev. Matthew Ischay and the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland was dropped by the plantiff's request on October 17th.
Ischay, 62, served as an associate pastor at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Akron for about a year until he was placed on administrative leave on August 26th after the diocese was notified of the lawsuit.
The lawsuit includes allegations that the priest sexually abused a child in the late 1970's.
