A Lowe's employee and part time police officer has been arrested for allegedly stealing money from the store.
Streetsboro police say the store on Route 303 reported an employee-related theft, and after investigating, they arrested 35 year-old Steven W. Clark of Chesterland on fourth degree felony theft charges. He was arrested while working at Lowe's.
Streetsboro police Lt. Darin Powers says that the theft of both cash and merchandise caused a $16,000 loss to the store, and happened over four months.
"This was something that was going on over a period of time," Lt. Powers tells AkronNewsNow.com. "It wasn't just one incident, it was a chain of incidents."
Clark was also a part-time officer in the Windham police department at the time.
Windham police tell AkronNewsNow that Clark resigned his post with the department immediately following the arrest.
The case is still under investigation.
