The Ohio Department of Transportation is planning a coming weekend full of bridge repairs in Akron. But, the work is dependent upon Mother Nature.
ODOT is planning to close I-76 eastbound/I-77 westbound between the Kenmore Leg and the Central Interchange starting at 9 pm Friday night June 24th until Monday morning June 27th at 5 am for bridge repairs.
ODOT had scheduled similar closures last Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but a weather forecast of a rainy weekend cancelled the construction work.
Motorists will be detoured via the Kenmore leg to I-277/US-224 eastbound to I-77 northbound to I-76. As a part of this closure, all entrance and exit ramps along this section of I-76 eastbound/I-77 southbound will be closed.
All closures are weather dependent.
