St. Patricks Day OVI Checkpoints

St. Patricks Day weekend is officially over and the numbers are in for the weekends OVI checkpoints.

The checkpoint set up on Manchester Road saw 1,404 cars, 32 of which were investigated further and only 3 people were arrested for driving under suspension.

The West Market Street checkpoint saw 769 cars pass through, 51 were searched creating a laundry list of violations. The most notable being the possession of drugs, driving under the influence and driving under suspension.

Four people arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence opted to provide a breath sample. Their Blood Alcohol Concentrations were as follows: .166, .183, .219 and .280 respectively.

The lowest sample was over twice the legal limit and the highest sample was 3.5 times the legal limit.
