A vacant house went up in flames early Friday morning on Akron's east side.

Crews says it started just before 4AM at a home on the corner of Hazel Street at Simon Drive.

Firefighters had to break through the boarded-up windows to fight the flames.

There's no damage estimate yet, and an Arson investigator is on scene.

No injuries were reported.
