Bath police say some elderly residents are getting threatening calls from someone trying to get their personal information by faking a connection with law enforcement.

Two people reported the calls to Bath police on Friday, saying the caller claimed to be with law enforcement.

Bath police tell AkronNewsNow that the caller is asking for bank account information, and the location of valuables such as jewelry or weapons.

Police say the caller gets aggressive on the phone if the call's recipient doesn't cooperate, and tells them he's bringing over a search warrant.

There have been similar calls to people in Fairlawn.

If you get a call of that nature, police say don't give out any personal information to a caller you don't know.
