After nearly a month long investigation, Alliance police uncovered what they believe is the largest indoor marijuana growing operation in the department's history.
The Alliance Police Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant in the 2100 block South Seneca Avenue Tuesday around 8 p.m.
Authorities found what they believe was the largest indoor marijuana growing operation within four rooms inside the residence which included 260 marijuana plants in various stages of growth.
Alliance police also found an elaborate lighting and ventilation system, fertilizing system, growing aids and more that $7,000 in cash which is believed to be proceeds from the grow operation.
Robert Baumgartner, 41, was found leaving the home as officers arrived, and was taken into custody without incident.
He has been charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana, trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of criminal tools and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Baumgartner was taken to the Stark County Jail where he is being held on a $100,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled in Alliance Municipal Court Wednesday, April 27th.
