UPDATED Man Found Dead After Reports Of Gunshots In Akron

UPDATED Summit County's Medical Examiner has release the name of the man found shot to death last night on the city's west side.

The body discovered on Dover Avenue in Akron has been positively identified as Monte Pitts, a 34-year-old male from Akron, Ohio. The autopsy has been completed and the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of death is Homicide.

Detectives say officers received a call for gunshots fired in the 900 block of Dover Avenue just before midnight. Police are still investigating whether the victim was also struck by a car.

Officers do not have any suspects at this time.
