A water main break today on Middleton Road in Hudson has prompted a precautionary boil water advisory for Akron water customers in Hudson and Twinsburg Township, North of Middleton Rd. and including Middleton Rd.

As a precaution, and in accordance with EPA regulations, those customers should boil their water until further notice.
If you live in these areas but do not have Akron water service, you are not affected. Boil water for two minutes before drinking it.

Previous Story:

Things are drying up in Hudson Wednesday afternoon, with a lack of water caused by a water main break affecting hundreds of customers.

Officials with the city of Akron say it happened on Littleton Road, affecting homes and business in that area, along with customers in the Lascala area.

Bad news, though, is that repairs won't begin until 1PM, since they would like to keep the remaining water pressure for the nearby Hudson Elementary School.

About 255 customers west of Lascala are affected.

Repairs could be done by 6PM, according to the latest estimates, but officials caution that it could change when the full shutdown occurs and the excavation actually begins.
