Wadsworth Schools will be looking for a new superintendent. Current Superintendent Dr. Dale Fortner has announced his retirement effective June 30th after 15 years with the the Wadsworth district.

"We're certainly proud of our accomplishments," Fortner said.

"Each school district has challenges year in and year out, and I'm very happy we were able to overcome those challenges and continue to provide a quality education."

Fortner says he leaves behind a school system that continues to improve its schools even in tough economic times, including the building of a new high school.

He says he will now pursue another career path either in the private or public sector.

Fortner is thankful for the chance he was given the lead the Wadsworth school district.

"I deeply appreciate the opportunity that the Wadsworth school board and community has given me."
