The Portage County Drug Task Force arrested three people in connection with operating a meth lab in the attic of a Franklin Township home.
NewsChannel 5 reports the task force received a tip that there was a possible meth lab at a house on West Shore Drive. Portage County authorities say the house was investigated for two days before a search warrant was obtained.
Members of the task force found remains of an active meth lab in the attic and crawl space Tuesday.
Arrested were 30-year old Michael Piskac of Ravenna, 23-year old Ashley Mitrovic of Tallmadge, and Robert Akers of Kent. All were charged with Illegal Manufacturing of Methamphetamines
Portage County Sheriff David Doak told NewsChannel 5 Piskac and Mitrovic were both arrested for making meth inside a home in Kent January 5.
The chemicals were removed from the scene by a clandestine drug lab clean up unit and a chemical disposal company.
