Early Morning House Fires Result In Injury, Death Found

Two Akron area fires early Saturday are being investigated.

One person died in a Barberton house fire.

NewsChannel 5 reports that fire crews got to the scene of a Lincoln Avenue home at around 1 AM early Saturday morning.

The home was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived. One person was found dead inside the home. Investigators are still looking for the cause.

Two firefighters were hurt battling a house fire in Akron early Saturday.

It happened at just before 4 AM at a home on Alfretta Avenue.

Firefighters saw flames coming out of the two story brick building and attacked the fire from inside. One firefighter fell through a hole in the foor of a hallway, and a second was also injured.

Both were sent to Akron General Medical Center, and their conditions are not yet known.

The home was a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
