The Mogadore police officer accused of pointing a gun at a fellow officer while intoxicated at a New Year's Eve party has been indicted.

The Record Courier reports 43-year old Mark Halliwill was indicted January 10 by a Portage County grand jury on one count each of felonious assault  and having a weapon while intoxicated.

The newspaper is saying gun specifications to the assault charge could be adding up to three additional years behind bars on top of the two to eight years Haliwill will be facing if convicted.

No injuries were reported after the altercation at the Virgil Street home January 1. He was placed on administrative leave following the incident.

Haliwill is free after posting bond. A trial is scheduled in Portage County Common Pleas Court for May 21.
