Akron Police are investigating two weekend shootings.
Shortly before 7 Friday night, 29-year old Michael Holloway was shot in the chest in the 1200 block of Nome Avenue. Holloway, of Frederick Boulevard, was shot following an argument with the suspect. Holloway was hospitalized in stable condition.
The suspect, Curtis Charlton, 30, of Nome Avenue was arrested near the intersection of North Hawkins and Copley Road. Charlton was charged with felonious assault, aggravated burglary, having a weapon while under disability and discharging a firearm. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
Akron detectives are also investigating a shooting that occurred shortly before 4 Saturday morning. The victim reported he had just dropped a friend off around the corner from his house, at Garth Avenue and Hoye Avenue. As he was backing out of the driveway, he noticed three men and two women walking down the road. As he passed the group, an unknown suspect fired a shot through the back window of his car. He wasn't injured and returned home and called police.
